India is a Secular State
India is secular state. Secularism in India contex means non discrimination among individuals on the basis of their caste, creed religion or community. Indian constitution gurantees to indian citizen the freedom of religion and workship. Every individual has full freedom to follow any religion and to propagage it. The state does not have any religion of its own nor does it identify itself with any particular religion. This does not mean that the state is opposed to religion. It simply mean that between different religions the state will remain neutral.
India is a secular democrasy. Secularism has been traditional policy of India through the ages. India has always cherised the sprit of accommodation. The people of diffrent faith and religions have been living here with perfect harmony and understanding. In the past Buddhism and several other forms of Hinduism flourished in India side by side for centruies. This broad mindedness and megnanimigy can rarely be found in any other culture.
Indian history teaches us that in a country so large and diversified as India, succesful political life can be built only on the willing allegiance of all section of the people. Identification of the state with my any particular religion would tend to violate the principal of secularism. The state should have no religon of it own. "When one community is in overwhelming majority, there may be a temptation for memebrs of that community to excact their religion and their way of live above others." India has done well in declaring itself a secular state.

My View Towards India
From the world's most imposing mountain ranges in the north to the lap of mighty oceans in the south- from the cruel beuty of shifting desert sands in the west to the verdant green forests in the east- India stands proud.

As ancient as the earth, India is the cradle of human civilisation. India is civilisation itself. Speak of religion, philosophy, art, the sciences- any field of human endeavour- India has always shown the way to the world by treading as yet untrodden paths.

India is a million countries rolled into one. It is an explosion of races, religions, beliefs, philosophies and traditions. This melting-pot is home to every imaginable race, community and religion in the world and has helped evolve the true Indian spirit. It is this spirit which converts the explosion into a celebration. India is not just for Indians to pride over. India is the entire world's possibilities and hope.
